SENTIERS
I have always been drawn to the concept of ruins, traces of human presence gradually merging with nature: the remnants of past civilizations: dolmens, menhirs, mills, chapels, walls, fountains, bridges, and other ancient structures. Though overgrown with vegetation and forgotten by time, by people, and by the evolution of society, they (unlike most modern constructions) maintain a harmonious relationship with their environment.
In this particular case, ancient transhumance trails, ancient paths descending from the mountains to the sea, notably for transporting goods to hilltop villages, for crossing livestock to the lowlands. Wild and abandoned ruins, trees, walls, barbed wire...
So, this project continues naturally "Les Fruits de Mon Jardin" series, I intend to paint this trials, this paths, this marks and so, create a relation between walking path and path of life, as well as continuing my ideas around pictorial representation, nature, and the remains we leave behind.
